EMS Division… SURVIVING TURBULENT TIMES

It is easy to look around and notice what is wrong – everyday, news of companies and firms manifesting difficulty in maintaining business… and that the 1^st quarter next year seems a nightmare, CEOs cannot outright vision what is in store come 2009. Pricon is not an exemption. But why look at it on the negative side? Negative thinking aggravates the problem. It has a powerful life of its own – so is positive energy.

To withstand economic slow down, there is no other way but to embrace change. Rapid change is the hallmark of our times and uncertainty always accompanies change. It is a fact that in today’s turbulent environment where demands for change are continually accelerating, there will be losers, survivors and winners. To survive, we have to stop declaring killer posits like – “we can’t do that..” “that’s the way we did before and it didn’t work…” “we’ve not done that before…” and hundreds of negative statements.

At EMS Division, we are tasked to seek triumph out of the downturn -- we have to work within allocated man-hours which we are assessing weekly, look and work our way to defer and control cost to mitigate effect of product low volume. Each employee has his own share of no-work and no-overtime days, and yet has come up with ideas and contributed efforts on improvements that we need to manage the upturn. What is the positive side then? – Prospective customers keep coming in to visit our facility, giving us all the chances to market our capability. Evaluation runs are expected on its flight at the onset of Year 2009.

It takes practice to see what’s right. Each day, we can ask what’s right, what’s good – about people, our life, our work, our day, our relationships, ourselves, our conduct. Positive energy transforms. Positive energy attracts positive becoming of situations and events. It attracts innovation, attracts pride of work. Thus, attracts positive results on every customer visit. Those visits will become businesses.
